Power Side View Mirror Wiring Problem

Power Side View Mirror Wiring Problem
I have a 1997 Blazer LT and neither side view power mirror would work. I replaced the control switch and that did not fix it. When checking the power window wiring with an ohm meter I found an open circuit in the orange power wire. Inline from the main door harness to the control switch connector was a thick, heat shrink wrapped part of the harness. I am 99 percent sure that this is factory and not someone else’s handy work. I cut away the shrink wrap (as pictured) and found a very small circuit board with two green diodes/resistor, or at least that’s what I think they are. One of the green resistors was open and needed replaced. Radio shack could identify what the green resistor was so I could not buy a replacement. I went to the u pick it yard and was going to cut one out of a harness, the strange thing is that none of the 4 dr blazers (same year and well as 96’s and 98’s) with power side view mirrors had the heat shrink board as part of the harness, the brown and orange wires went directly from the main door harness to the control switch connector. Not sure if anyone has seen something like this. I was thinking to cut the board out and wire it direct like all the ones I observed at the salvage yard but I am a little concerned about doing that because I would assume that GM did this for a reason. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would just remove the board and wire the harness together.
