So I just bought another 4x4 Blazer today, a 1998 4dr LS, guess it's the Smokey Caramel Metallic color. My wife has owned her 1998 Blazer since 2000 when we bought it with only 18,000 miles and she totally loves it...it now has 153k. Anyway, the Blazer I just bought today was going to be used for body parts to fix hers, but now I'm thinking the other one is a better platform (LS) than hers...

I bought the LS for parts. I need the hood and both fenders due to severe oxidation, the lower bumper (craked in pieces), a new steering column and some trim pieces. Anyway, I discovered my wifes is not an LS like the one I just bought. Doesn't make sense though, hers has all options I can see with the exception of the Al skidplates the LS has. The LS has cloth interior, my wife's...leather. I always thought there was the base model, then the LS, then the LT? Guess I need to look up RPO codes and compare the differences. Anyway, the LS Blazer needs an alignment, new tires and to replace the rear bumper, think I got it for a steal at 2k. I'm going to check out the 4x4 tomorrow and run the scanner on it to be sure.

I can throw up some pics of the two later, I pick up the new (used) one tomorrow after work! Then I guess I have a lot to look into to make sure I get all the good parts from the LS or if I decide to fix up the LS instead...hmmm

 

the leather is usually a good give away that its an LT (or so ive come to see), unless if someone before your wife or you owned it, swapped the seats, theres usually a badge in between the fornt and rear door, that says LT or LS
