Newer Blazer or older Jimmy?
I'm new to this forum so be gentle on your comments, please. in fact I'm new to general motors period but I have a question and I need some advice. I'm looking at purchasing an s 10 blazer or gmc jimmy but I'm not sure which 1 to pick. The blazer is a 1997 model 2 door with 174000 miles and the jimmy has approximately 164,000 miles on it and it is a 1994 2 door. Both have a 4.3 liter engine and automatic transmission. And the bodies are in good shape. Basically they're both in good shape. The 1997 model is 1400.00 where as the 1994 model is 950.00. I think I can get the 97 blazer for 1200.00 but the Jimmy is set at 950.00 firm. Thoughts?

No need to worry about getting flamed on this forum our mods do a really good job of weeding those people out! I think the best thing to do in this situation is to look then both over top to bottom front to back and find all the pros and cons of each as far as mechanical and appearance and use those as a determining factor and also its alot about looks since they are two very different looking body styles. That is a decision that will have to be your personal preference. They are both nice looking trucks from the factory tho.

I agree
You could always buy them both right ?

yep look them over. i see 2002s that are the biggest piles of junk i have ever seen in my life and then a 95 will roll in and not have a thing wrong with it. check over the little stuff, does the 4x4 work, see if anything is leaking, the shape of the tires, does the a/c work does one smell like feet and the other smells like flowers.
little stuff can make a big difference, if the tires are junk on one that can be around 5-600 for a good new set

1997 has OBDII which makes diagnosis much easier. It also has CSFI, (Central Sequential Fuel Injection) which has 6 injectors and is a much better system with less to go wrong than the CMFI (Central Multiport Fuel Injection) one injector, on the 1994. Mileage really doesn't matter, if they've been taken care of, both should easily go 200K + miles. As mentioned, check 'em both out before buying either one.

Thanks for the responses. It's nice to visit a forum where you can get productive comments without the negative assumptions. Tomorrow I'm going out to check the '94. And with your advice I'll have more ammo in my belt!
