93 Chevy s10 4.3 4x4 over 150k and pretty well maintained I would say I avg about 20-22 mpg and or about the same as my g35 which to me is awesome. I'm really happy with the mpg of my Blazer cause it doesnt matter which I take to work. Cost the same gas wise! Gear wise its really luggin along vs past blazer so it def doesnt have lower gears in it. Slowest Blazer I have driven which stinks but I will take the mpg's over speed at this point.

95 Jimmy 4 door, 5" of lift on 31x10.5s 198k on the body and 100k on most the drivetrain. Its my winter DD and I get 12 city and 20 hwy. In the summer I'll get up to 22 hwy which is surprising because before the lift I'd get 23 hwy.

12 city, 20 highway, damn that is quite the span there.

im getting about 15 city,18 highway. 3.73 gears (like most of you know what that means lol) and 4.3 with 700r4

Default Cold Effect on Mileage

Just a point of interest - I've posted here before, saying that my '98 LS 4D 4WD gets basically 19-20mpg combined mostly hwy, some city. One thing I've noticed over the years is that the mileage in the winter (here in N. Missouri) is significantly less than in warm weather. When the temp is 20 or below, the combined mileage is in the 16-17 range. I suppose that's not surprising because gasoline vaporizes better in warm weather and normal operating temperatures are reached faster.

Don't know if your state does the same, but here in MA they start using "winter blend" fuel around October, which kills your mileage. It evaporates faster, and burns faster - basically a lower octane fuel which kills your mileage. The "summer blend" is used because they think gas fumes kill the earth, so that evaporates slower. Like it matters with EVAP .. but I digress.

That, and air is "thicker" in winter - meaning it packs more o2 per given volume over warm summer air. The computer adds more fuel to match. We always got worse mileage in winter, even with the carbureted cars, but these days the difference between summer & winter mileage is much wider, and more noticeable.

No winter blend here, but we do get (by law) 10% ethanol year around which decreases mpg. I hadn't thought of the denser winter air being a factor. Makes sense. Point of comparison - my wife's car is an '07 Honda FIT. It reliably gets 30 mpg/city regardless of temperature. Maybe technology improved enough between '98 and '07 to compensate?

Yeah the newer ones are designed to run on this crap fuel we have today. The computers are able to do alot more now .... but with every year they also get more complex, and expensive to fix when they break .. but I digress yet again ...

We also have the mandated moonshine in our fuel - and no choice either. They put it in ANY gasoline sold in MA. Problem out here that nobody talks about is, the percentages are FAR above the 10% posted at the pump, and are wildy variable from day to day, and station to station.

My Flex-Fuel '07 Silverado has a parameter in the computer that calculates alcohol content of the fuel, so the tech can tell whether you were running E85, gas, or any infinite combination of the 2. When I noticed a big drop in seat-of-the-pants HP, I threw my scan tool on, and found 19.8% alcohol. Even if that's off by 5%, that's still FAR above what they tell you it is. Even less mileage, more problems with lawn/garden equipment, motorcycles, ATV's, etc ... and more money in the state's pocket at your expense! Your filling up more often than you should be, and the state gets the extra fuel tax. What a racket ...
