Today is oil changin' day. Been using Mobile 1 high mileage 10-40. The engine has mucho miles on it, with a lifter (ticking noise on start-up) that's pitchin' a bitch a little louder & longer than before.
I would appreciate any suggestions for oil &/or additives that would help.

add 1/2L of tranny fluid to the engine oil and get it nice and hot and than dump it. this will flush out any dirt in the engine. if this dont work than the lifter prolly needs to be replaced as they are leaking down when the engine is off and no additive is going to fix it. your already using the best oil on the market.

 

I wouldn't do the tranny fluid, who knows where all the sludge will go before it gets drained. Instead I would do an oil change and leave a quart out and add a quart of marvel mystery oil. That stuff can really quiet down a tick.
