Default Possibly buying '70 Project. Advice anyone?

So it looks like I may have a golden opportunity to buy a '70 project.
Im a noob to Blazers but not to Chev's. Im going to look at it tomorrow so I'll have tons more info/good pics then.

Here's what I know so far:
-427 that runs!!!!!!!!! th400
-has some surface rust in common places-rockers etc.
-not sure about suspension/axle specs for now but will know tomorrow

...so not too much info. Im gonna spend tons of time searching here tonight but some general info would be helpful from all you Blazer gurus (unique areas for rust). Trying also to come up with a fair offer for the seller who doesn't seem like an enthusiat/car guy but Im not gonna lowball too much (not my style). Could use some input there.

Price will depend highly on condition. Don't let the engine boost the cost too much. It isn't original.

Check the rockers and the rocker boxes (I think the later 1st gens had them). The rear cross member likes to rot out that will allow the bed sides to flop.

Also, check out the condition of the top, specifically the hinge on the rear lift up window and the corners in the back. If these areas a bad/cracked, the top could be in need of replacing. And they are getting harder to find in good condition. Good outer sheetmetal is also hard to come by. LMCTruck and various other aftermarket suppliers have the sheetmetal in their catalog's, but I have read numerous accounts of it either being damaged when delivered or, more troubling, that it did not line up correctly...

Yeah just be read if your doing a resto job it might get costly very quick. you need to take in every aspect fo that truck. engine drivetrain brake system steering and suspension everything but it can be very rewarding to fix up an old truck or car and make it your own
