Default Project Rattle Reduction

Phase 1 was the replacement of the door seals on the ZR2 - made a world of difference! Phase 2 was a new dash bezel from the A**z*n place. It wasn't too expensive and it really is a bit more than I was expecting. The old dash bezel had 3 out of 8 clips still holding and one of 3 screws holding the bezel on - so, the new bezel is great. It clipped in easily and has removed the rattle from the bezel. The color is pretty much right on - except for the weathering of the original. I'd post a picture - but a bezel is a bezel and it looks like a bezel. It has new vents and it is a really great fit.

I have a new grille in the garage. Waiting for the new lights and running lights - going from the ZR2 chrome look to a black grille and black rimmed lights and running lights.

The back hatch is now the most obvious squeak in the ZR. I have been wrapping the rear lift window latch bar in rubber bike inner tube about once a year - but the real fix will be a swing away tire carrier. With no tire on the ZR2 carrier - no squeak. Had the tire off for a repair and left the spare in the back for a week or so - no squeaking while there was no weight on the carrier - and it is deforming the fenders.

Changed out the grille and headlights / parking lights today. The grille was from A*A**o and lights from A**z*n. A bit of fitting to get them seated and clipped into the grille. The grille clipped right in.

Interesting, thanks. Any tips on dealing with a squeaky jack?
