Default Question about a K5 Tailgate

I have a 73 that needs a tailgate. I found a tailgate off an 87 K5. Will this fit my 73?
Thanks

Yes. If it is power, you will have to wire it up, but it will physically bolt in just the same as your old one.

I have two extra, rust free tailgates just because I found them cheap.

Hmmm.... Interested in selling one? Having a heck of a time finding one for my newly-aquired '83 K5, mainly because all yards are scrapping "those old tanks, no one drives that crap anymore" and no one is interested in helping find one. In a perfect world I'd be looking for a complete manual window, clear glass one.

Mine is rotten and has a plexiglass window in it, so basically nothing to start with.

I'm about 2.5 to 3 hrs away from you.

Sorry, but I am going to sit on mine for now. If that changes or I find another one for a good price, I'll try to remember to let you know.

Thanks. I've ordered an aftermarket one but am still trying to chase down even a junk one to rob the guts from... there just don't seem to be any left around here!

Only one of my spares is complete, ready to bolt on & wire up. The other is a brand new, OEM shell made from thicker sheetmetal than the aftermarket stuff. I was really lucky with both of them considering that I paid just over $150 for the pair.

Jealous. Just paid that for the aftermarket one, and it was like 80% off... I figured it was a good deal, thin or not. My trucks are for snow plowing so they don't have to be show quality...

Its too bad Suburban stuff is different. I have TWO good 'burban gates, ready to bolt on...
