Questions about door/side mirrors
Hi folks!
I have some questions about door/side mirrors.
I have a '97 Jimmy, with power mirrors. I replaced the door mirrors on it right after I bought it, because they were very loose. After 3 years, they are floppy and vibrate like crazy.
I also have a '00 Blazer, with power/heated mirrors. The mirrors on it are solid.
I have been looking at online parts sites, and noticed that in 98, the part number for the Jimmy's mirrors, changes.
Questions:
Is the different PN, because of a mounting size or type design change, a wiring plug style change, or because of a visual appearance change?
Are the 98 Jimmy mirrors better?
Do the '97 Blazer style mirrors flop and vibrate? If not, are they a direct swap?
Will 98-99 Jimmy and or Blazer mirrors fit on the '97 Jimmy, without modification?
Thank You for any insight!

You could use any mirror from a second gen, as long as the plugs are the same, or you use your old one and rewire the end.
they do have the different styles of mirrors through out the years, and the plug changed with the model and package.
On the wifes old sonoma, she had street scene mirrors that where on the truck when she got it. A little smaller then the elephant ears, and sportier. They worked amazing and where solid for way longer then any mirror I've had.

On my present 2000 blazer the driver door was a mess. The mirror was also busted. I had saved my mirrors from my old 1995 Jimmy. I found that the mounting screws were different and the holes didn't line up. I ended up mounting it with only two bolts because I needed a working mirror. But no the older mirrors are not the same as the newer.
