Smile RE; throttlee and IAC

wanted to take of the throttle bodies and the iac( intake air control
valve) and clean them both.

the throttle bodies seemed labor intensive so i cleaned them in place.

i believe the iac valve is to the right of the throttle bodies as you are looking at them from the front of the engine. it seemed a more intensive job, so i left them alone today. can you tell me if it is a pain to get to the iac valve or not.

thanks.......

You are correct on the location of the IAC valve.

How comfortable are you at disassembling your truck?

For me, it isn't a pain to do much of anything on any vehicle. Some things are complex, but not necessarily a pain. Now, removing the AIR solenoid valve on an '01 Caddy DeVille with only a 15 minute cool down period... That was painful. Not because of the complexity of the job, but because of the heat! LOL

Talking Re; iac

i am resonably comfortable with taking on the IAC.

On my 5.7 Caprice it seemed a lot easier to get at the throttle bodies and the iac.

any help would be appreciated.

Check out the Tech Article (DIY) Index link found in my signature. Lots of info there, including the removal of the throttle body.
