General Chat Chat about all things Blazer (and related vehicles). Off-topic stuff should be in the lounge, and all mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Reading horrible Blazer reviews, should I sell it?

The only person's review you should rely on is yours. Yes, they do have their "issues", but what vehicle doesn't. So what if some guy a thousand miles away from you said they hated it, and went and bought a Honda. That's their problem! Besides, If they are so terrible, than why did GM sell so many of them?

I've had 2 issues with mine since I bought it in June this past summer- the seal on my gas cap dried out (salt air courtesy of it living on St. Pete beach for 4 years) and the thermostat went out a few weeks ago. Aside from oil changes and an air filter- I've put less than $40 into parts for it. The previous owners took GREAT care of it and I bought it with 31k miles on it. I've put 7k on it this year and I love it.

I'm not talking about subjective things like ride quality or power, I'm talking about objective things - **** going wrong. Since I haven't owned the truck more than a few months I have no opinion yet on reliability, but I have decided to go with it. You can bet I'll save this forum to my favorites since I do all my own maintenance and repairs (within reason) though, thanks for the welcome.

I drove a '93 Ramcharger to 260k, then sold it for $2500 because it still ran perfect. That fact probably tells me the Blazer will be fine, as of now I'm in keeping it mode.
The Blazer does freakin' great in the snow!!! Best I have ever driven in the snow! I had to be out in it all day yesterday and it was fine (granted I went everywhere in either 1st or 2nd).

It's okay, we all know that deep inside you yearn for a mini-van. If only you could put sliding doors on the Blazer. :teeth:
