Default Rear Hatch Will not Open??

I am about 2 buy an 02 Xtreme blazer and when the owner installed a stereo, the wiring for the rear hatch has been messed up and the button will not open it. Is there a release button some where else to be able to open it as the button on the hatch will not release it . ANy ideas would be appreciated.

he probably cut the aux power wire. you'd have to tear out the HU and look behind there for broken wires and if not then anywhere b/t under the hood and there. or the relay for the rear hatch might need replacing
