Hey guys, I have a 99 zr2, it has been giving me some minor transmission issues. My question here is, I have about a 600 mile trip coming up and the blazer is the best rig I have as far as room, comfort, ac, and so on, would you guys drive this with the torque converter not wanting to stay locked in OD. I have a big trans cooler on it, and just replaced the filter and fluid in the trans, but I am not sure if I should risk it or just drive in 3rd, it doesn't seem to have the issue in 3rd gear. I am in the process of saving to buy a new transmission but that wont happen before the trip. What do you guys think? My other option for a vehicle is a little Pontiac Sunfire, it is small, no AC (and it is in the high 90's to low 100's), but gets great mileage.
What would you do in the situation?

Thanks for any opinions.

Drive in 3rd and you're above stall at hwy speed. Check your brake switch.
