Default RPO codes

Afternoon folks,

I was going through the RPO codes that are listed in the glovebox. But I can't seem to find the one for what springs I have. In the RPO codes it says the vehicle is rated for 5350 LBS and it has the smooth ride package. Anyone have any other way to find out? And it's listed as having 3.73 gears. I did go through the one post that posted the link to the RPO code PDF. that was alot of scrolling lol.

Sorry could someone move this to the correct area please

I've never come across any RPO that actually specifies the spring rate that came with your truck. I know that there are 5 different spring rate torsion bars, and that my 96 Blazer has the same "Premium Smooth Ride" package. My Blazer came with the 2nd softest torsion bar available. This thread here lists the different torsion bar part numbers, and how to identify them.

There is an RPO for the heavy duty rear springs... I think it's something like ZQ5? I don't remember off the top of my head though. I'm sure someone else will chime in with it.

Thanks for the replies! I think the part numbers listed are for the torsion bars? I was able to buy a set off a guy on kijiji from a zr2 that are the ones that end in 509 and 510 30.69 mm diameter. I'm just trying to decide on if I want to try and find a set to make a pack out of, add a leaf or just change them right out from a Dakota. Been trying the last little bit prowling the auto wreckers trying to find some axles on my own but it's been a bit of a go when I don't actually know what I'm supposed to be looking for. Looks like more reading is in order :P

Yeah, the parts I listed are for the various torsion bars. The 30.69mm torsion bars should help a lot on your Blazer, as long as they're not too worn themselves. If they're from a newer truck you should be golden. As for the leaf pack, quite a few people on here have had good success making their own add-a-leaf that extends the full length of the main leaf. I bought a Procomp AAL a few years ago, and it worked great for the first few years, but then the main leaf began sagging beyond the AAL. There's about 8" from the end of the AAL to the eye of the main leaf that are unsupported, and that's where it's sagging now on my Blazer.
