the truck is all of the above, and it needs some body work- new paint for sure, and rust removal. It runs strong, doesn't slip at all, and the 4wd is fully functional. Dealership is asking 1,950 which clearly isn't happening- anyone have any ideas on what it's actually worth? I don't want to insult the guy but it's gonna take me a lot of time to get it where I want it. Is $800 starting too low??

The better they understand that you understand its market value the better they will deal.

It is getting too old for the juck yards to buy but it should still bring $300+ for scrap metal.

For $800 it would be a nice project truck it sounds liked based on your info.

Let us know how the dealing goes. Today is the last day of the year so of open they may be aggressive.

Default perhaps he will call back when he collects some sense ;)

Stopped by today to talk about price- the guy working today wouldn't budge from 1900, and couldn't give me a good reason that it was listed at that amount. Apparently the sales manager wasn't there- so I left my card, and pleasantly left a message for him to call me if he wanted to offer a fair deal based on the value of the truck.

No skin off of my teeth!

its all how you look at it. thats why youre starting to see so many s10 trucks being built into offroad trucks. before i bought mine i was looking for a jeep wrangler for like 5 months and jeep people smoke more crack then dealerships. for the rustiest rotted 250,000 mile 4cyl jeep people want like 1500 or even more. so figured id get a s10, found mine for $350 and got it built up for about what i would have got that turd jeep for.

but your right, i can never sell it cause it aint worth anything. i have a 86 k30 also that is in great shape and its not worth anything so ill never sell it
