as usual i'm window shopping on craigslist sippin on some hopes and dreams and i see an 87 K5 for sale or trade. he mentions some vehicles he would be interested in, on of them being an 80s or 90s camaro. i have an 80s camaro.

after some texts back and forth i send him some pics and he said he's def interested. i'm waiting back on some pics + a day/time to meet up and look at each vehicle.

i'm pretty pumped, i'll keep you guys posted.

Right on man man. Good luck with it all.

BTW, I just a sold a 2000 Camaro SS. Had it for 3 years and it only had 41k miles on it. I know I will miss it in the spring!

oh its a pretty sweet car, definetly an upgrade my 84, the power is incomparable, as well as the handling and gas mileage.

well no word back from the guy in the past couple days, if it falls through owell i'm not too upset about it. when the weather gets nice i'll fix some things on the old camaro and hopefully move up to the next price range tier of possible trades.

i had a brief moment on the fence, ultimately i'm torn between an 80s-92 K5, or a 67-72 K10 or K20. however if i find a blazer with a SM465 trans then i'll ****** that up. are those common btw?

you mean 80's to '91. last year of the K5's & that beloved "box" body style.

as for the Muncie.......GFL with that. i've only ever come across 2 K5's with that trans in it (from the factory), and they were a '73 & a '77.

i know that there is info out there that says it was offered up to '91, but think about it. after the mid '80's how many non-OD tranys have you seen in anything?

be easier (& cheaper) to just drop in your own pedals & a manual trans.

hopefully you'll find one worth trading for.

I have only seen a few Syncrho-Mesh465 trannys in K5 Blazers and Suburbans. They are more common in pick-up trucks from those years. Usually 3/4 or 1 tons... and will be backed by a NP205 transfer case.
