Default steering shaft knocking on my '03, what is it?

I have a knocking noise in my steering shaft area when I go over bumps.

Could be the pitman arm, rag joint or anything else that's attached to the steering assembly like a ball joint or idler arm, upper or lower bushings. Have you lifted the front of the vehicle & tried to move the tires? Grab the top & bottom of each tire & try to rock it front & back & then left to right.

The torsion bar mounts could be bad .

Default Steering "Knock" in '03 Blazer

It's an internal, inside the cab noise...Anyone know if the S series Blazers were plagued with the same intermediate steering shaft issue that the Silverado/Sierras were?

Checking on everyone's suggestions as well, thanks! It's my daily driver with 67K on it. I'm thinking it can't be an external steering component...yet...

Could be a lot of things, like the previous post said best thing to do would be to shake down the entire suspension.

Try getting under the dash & twisting the steering shaft back n forth & trying to move it up & down, side to side etc. Then do the same under the hood looking for play. With the hood up get a heavy friend to try bouncing on the bumper to cycle the suspension a bit while you watch the steering shaft to see if it interferes with anything.
