I was wondering if anyone has an idea on why the stock muffler is so damn BIG!?

It's about the same size as the one on the 5.3L and 4.8L V8's, so maybe GM got them in bulk, lol. Probably same one that was on the 350s as well...

It's only 36" long... Not THAT big, lmao, j/k.

GM probably figured since the 4.3's are as torquey as a v-8 why not put a v-8 muffler on it, LOL!!!

Haha. Im not sure id want to go back to a stock muffler after putting in my flowmaster. Still havent had time to do it lol.

I was thinking the same. The stock exhaust is a monster. What kind of flowmaster do you have?
I was afraid of changing out my muffler. I think it has a deep tone to it, I like it. A lot of other exhaust sound too ricerish.
I was looking at 40 series and 50 series.
