stolen, stripped, scrapped
At the end of June, my 2002 Blazer was stolen, then recovered by police a week later. I had a no-Brand pedal/steering lock on it, which was not recovered, so I don't know how it was defeated. Battery, cat-cons, and everything inside was trashed or taken, including my glasses, which seems weird. Also weird is the tires/wheels were left on. My mechanic told me it would cost more to repair than to replace, so I sold it for parts ($325) and began looking for another like mine.
After a month of almost-daily searching, I gave up. Maybe I had the last two-door, five-speed S-10 Blazer in Southern Nevada -- I don't know.
It was a good eleven years with the Blazer, but I need to move on.

Oh man, that sucks. I get so mad at instances like this.
As for looking for a replacement, you just might have to keep looking. Perhaps when the automakers get caught up with demand, people will start selling their used rigs again and you can have your choice of what comes on the market!
