Default Subwoofer/sound options for '70 K5 topless blazer

I have decided to put a sound system in my K5, but do not know much about car audio systems. I am primarily interested to know what subwoofers (brand, size, etc.) I should get, and where they should be placed ( under the seat, inside middle console, etc.) to give good sound. The system will usually be used for cruising. Since the blazer has no roof, I was thinking of putting two 12" subs somewhere with 1000W. I don't need all that power but I would rather have the option of too much and turning it down, instead of not enough wishing I had more. Maybe throwing some good tunes from the vehicle at an occasional pasture party would be fun. Again, I know minimal about sound systems so any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. If I had that truck I'd be stereo shopping in the marine section. Get a system made for a boat so it will survive getting caught in the rain.
