Tips on Replacin Door Speakers???

Default Tips on Replacin Door Speakers???

when i got my Blazer a few months ago, the door speakers were bad. they still play, but crack real bad and im sick of it. as far as i know, the dash speakers and rear speakers are fine. do you have any recommendations on speakers to get, or tips/tricks about pullin the panel off and replacin them? thanks!

i got some audiobahns off ebay for mine an I dont think i would ever buy anything else great sound great bass just all around great door speakers, an with pullin off the panels dont break the tabs off when pullin off or your panels will rattle if you dont replace the tabs

ive got a CarQuest and Bumper-to-Bumper here in this little college town. do you think i could get those tabs from either one of these? just in case i don break one?

The tabs look like little platic "christmas tees". Most auto stores should have them. Do you know what size the door speakers are? I'm having the same issue on my 99 jimmy lol.

50lb_cat, your spearkers size would be 6 1/5"front and rear. and most auto stores do have them an can most the time get them for free from junk yard since there so little

Pioneer, that is all I can say, best bang for the buck, as for getting the door panel off, they sell a tool at all auto parts stores for no more than 10 bucks, will save the door panel clips from breaking.

Thanks rich and trobbins, I know next to nothing about audio except I'm tired of having nothing to listen to except the wind and my exhaust lol.

well, this helped out alot! ill check the parts store and see what they say. i just got a small speaker box from a friend with two 6x6s in it. theyre blue Pioneers. they look alright, like theyre not dried out. so ill see how they sound. thanks guys!!
