Default Trans question

While in a stopped position, and I place the gear selector into D2, and accelerate gently, it feels as though the trans is starting out in second gear, to verify this, I drop it into D1 and I can feel it downshift and the rpms increase. Is this normal? Also, the vehicle is only doing 5MPH when doing this test.

No that's not normal. Is this only when you’ve been driving it and have come to a stop or is it anytime you put it in D2?

This happens only when I put it in D2 while at a stop, that it will start out in 2nd. I tried this with D3 and it starts out in 1st as normal, same thing with D4.

Or were you asking if the truck is already warmed up? Yes, this happened while the truck has been driven a couple miles. Have yet to try it while it is cold. Would testing this cold make any difference in testing results?

I can post a video later on today after I get out of work if this would make it easier for everyone to see what's going on. ??
