Default Value of a v8 blazer or s10

I was wondering what the value of a v8 swapped blazer or a s10. Saw a xtreme s10 with a ls3 for sale today for 15k. The body looked amazing and it was really well done. But 15k seemed alittle high to me. Saw a few other s10s with v8s for similar price. Is 10kish reasonable? Ive been looking into a v8 swap because i was bored but wasn't sure if it was worth it. If they are going for 10k or so its defiantly worth it in my opinion then. For those that have v8 swapped one and sold it what did you get out of it?
Thanks in advanced

Its only worth what someone is willing to pay.
I have seen a couple 5.3 swapped s10s sell near me for around $4000-$5000. There is also a Turbo 5.3 swapped 1st gen for sale at $9000 near me that has been on craigslist for about 6 months and now is being parted out.
The issue that comes up is people put a bunch of money into a project and then expect it to be worth a ton, but in reality its still just a S10.

Having said that, if the one you saw truly has a LS3 in it and depending what transmission is in it, that drive train alone could be worth $3000-$4000.
But $15,000 for a S10 is just insane to me.

You can do a LS swap into a 2nd gen S10 for under $5,000 easily.

Thanks for the reply. That's true for everything though, Its only worth what someone is going to pay. At least I'm not alone thinking that 15,000 is an insane price for one. The add said it came out of a 2010 Camaro and i think it said it had the trans from it too. 4,000 to 5,000 for a 5.3 swap seems reasonable to me with the time that it takes to do the swap.

An iron block 4.8, 5.3, or even 6.0 is going to be the cheaper of the LS lineup, they're a dime a dozen, so any of those that are just dropped in the S-chassis as a stock motor I couldn't see raising the price of one too much. If done right (clean and not hacked together), maybe an extra $1,000 more than the truck with a stock engine. If the motor is built a little, throw more $$$ on top of that.

However if you start looking at the cost of an LS3, that might change the way you look at it. The all aluminum 6.2 LS3 engine typically sells by itself for $3,000+, which is more than what most will be willing to pay for an entire S10 or Blazer in good stock condition. A well executed drop in stock LS3 swap could raise the price of the truck an extra $2,000-$3,000. And again if that engine is built some before being swapped in, you can add more $$$ onto that.

In the end, it really depends on the overall fit and finish of the truck though. Just because it has a V8 swapped into it doesn't make it a rare custom machine that deserves top dollar. If done wrong, a V8 swapped S10 or Blazer can be a NIGHTMARE. I've seen it; buddy at work swapped an LS1 into his 98 and hardly ever drove it after that because he took shortcuts and had nothing but problems, and in the end just ended up selling it to get rid of the headaches. But on the flip side there's a guy across the road from me that daily drives his Vortec 350 swapped square body S10 and it's as reliable, if not more reliable, as a stock truck of the same age and condition.

15k though, that truck better be MINT. I'm talking a fully rebuild and painted suspension with all new components (upgraded where it could be done), a clean interior with a well done custom sound system that can do anything you would expect any new car to have (bluetooth, navigation, apple car-play, backup camera, etc), a flawless paintjob on the outside, basically it better be as good as a brand new truck.

I've actually got an LS3 sitting aside waiting to drop into my 04 4x4 and I haven't even ever considered the resale value after the swap. As someone who's actually looking forward to doing the swap, making money (or even selling the truck for that matter) isn't something I'm looking forward too. I'm more so looking forward to ripping gears with 450+hp and burning off 31" mud terrains well, until it gets solid axle swapped too and can clear 36", then burning those off too lol

As per value, I look for quality of everything. If the truck is rust free, clean paint, well maintained and new drivetrain. I would consider 15k. Theres an original s15 jimmy typhoon that has just been posted on autotrader.ca(canada), all original immaculate condition, 25k. 35k original km on it. Would go for that right now if i had the cash.

its not a v8, but value depends on the seller and purchaser... to each their own.

That true, it would just have to be an extremely nice S10 to be worth that kind of money or something rare like a typhoon or syclone.

BTW if your looking for one, there is a white typhoon for sale near me for $10K
Or a Syclone for $25k, but this is one of the cleanest ones i have ever seen.
If i had the extra cash one of these would be sitting in my driveway just because they are neat and rare vehicles.

a LS one is def a different monster however I picked up my 2000 4Dr 2wd Blazer with Vortec 350 (lowered 4-6") for $2500
it had a few issues (nothing that bad) the dash is cracked alittle, carpet was disgusting and windows don't roll down
also had a exhaust leak, small dent in hood (covering with bug deflector )

The Xtremes are popular in the hood. They ride low, have a body kit, dark glass and the gangstas take out the spare tire and bolt in a giant woofer. I got pulled over by a semi trucker on I-10 once, thought something was falling off my truck but he only wanted to know if I was willing to sell!

Goodness, I would take a Typhoon or Cyclone over any V8 out there!!! These "little turbo charged" V6's are monster killers!!!
