Alright guys, didnt qualify for a $5k or $6k loan. the ONLY thing they were able to do for me was a $1,000 credit line. That wont fix the blazer, let alone that the whole front suspension will need to be done. I had contacted the guy with the s10 350 again and his wife said he was actually holding it for me since he knew the bind im in. so its the blazer and $800 for the 350 swapped s10. heres the ad again. Really, this is my only option at this point. the blazer is 6 feet under in my hands, but has hope in anothers.

1986 Chevy S-10 V-8/Auto 350/350 Fun&fast truck....Sale or trade'

sure you cant get a junkyard motor? I looked online and found a lkq pull it yard at LKQ Self Service Auto Parts
3157 W Intrntl Spdwy Blvd
Daytona Beach, FL 32124

Motors are only 250 complete,or 150 for bock and heads. and comes with a 30 day warranty. You'd have to pull it yourself,or if you are lucky, theres a guy down there like here in sc that pulls parts for you for $$$. They are not affiliated with them, but they allow them to do it since it makes them money. guy here only charges 75.00 to pull one for you. Key is to find a blazer thats been wrecked and totaled. so you know the motor was running at the time.

so say 350.00 for the motor, fluids etc.

you still have plenty left for your front end. even if you dont have time to put it in,find someone off craigslist that needs sidework. I had a guy to put a trans in for me for 100 bucks.

box s10's with v8's go for around 1500 here. Thats why im thinking about selling my blazer and buying one already swapped. saves $$$

Man, id love to just fix the blazer, but i really dont have alot to work with. 90% of the blazers at the junkyard are annihilated by the time i get to them. Even at that, i still have to buy internals etc. And im not comfortable buying a motor out of a car that i have no clue what someone did with it. For all I know, it could have been someone like me, or the engine could be totally shot. If i get sick of the s10, i can just sell it. I also get financial aid each semester and I could use that to purchase a blazer. Ill see how this car treats me first. Could just be this junkyard, but almost every motor looks atrocious, and its very seldom that you find a decent motor.

Junkyards around me? no I wouldn't buy an engine from them. But I've heard of junkyards that are very organized with engines and stuff more accessible. Even 100 miles South the junkyards are loads better than here. Yeah you may not know the engine's history, but do you know the S10's? And for $800 I would just go find a decent old car or a regular S10 with the factory engine. Nowhere near as much power, but better mileage and no transplant headaches or surprises. That way maybe you could keep your Blazer to fix and still have a reliable vehicle
