Any tips on how to get this thrown out of court?

We moved out of california in december, so we didn't pay the registration (obviously)

The registration expired in march, and i was driving my mustang around almost 6 months with expired registration in cali (they said if it was over 6 months, they could have towed it, so I assumed I was fine until 6 months, which it has only been 3 so far)

It should just be expired registration, but apparently, it's suspended?

I don't know how that happened. We moved and there has been several other instances where the mail was not sent to our new address, even after having address forwarding or whatever it is.

I am going to tell them everything (never got a notice of suspension, was able to drive 6 months on expired before, etc)

Any other help greatly appreciated.
