What code reader do u use?
Hey folks
i´m just interested in what kind and make of code reader u use for your cars. Where did you buy it and how much did it set you back?
Are you disappointed by any particular ones?

I have an AutoEnginuity scan tool that I use with my laptop. Before this, I had an Autotap which worked very well, but was not bi-directional and could not access systems like the ABS, TCCM, SRS, BCM, etc. So I upgraded. Mine cost me just shy of $400 when I purchased it quite awhile ago. I just put another $150 into an upgrade to the ProLine hardware for more support on the vehicles my family drives.

I bought the Equus 3100 Code Reader from O'Reily (Checker) auto parts for around $100 (?) if I recall. I use it to check the "Check Engine" light, verify the dealer's diagnosis, and to turn off the light if the problem only occurs once every 10 months. If you work on your own car or plan on keeping it for awhile, yes, I'd fully recommend investing in a good one that accesses this computer system.
