Think of it this way man.

You spend the money on a used car with all the options, or you spend the money on a little Sonic that probably isn't as nicely optioned or as fun.

If you were to sell a year down the road how much do you think you'd lose on each car? You'd probably lose less on the Vibe IMO. You're getting pretty close to rock bottom for a cheap car that's in good shape and not beat up. I bought an 03 Cavy about 3 years back for 6k... It's worth ~4 now. (My parents bought it back from me when I bought the Blazer so it's still in the family lol.)

That's just the way I look at it. If you ever buy a new car, it better be worth your while. My 06 Sierra is just as good of a truck for me as a brand new one would have been, and I'm not taking as big of a financial hit because I bought a used one. I paid ~18k for the Sierra and could probably pull close to that today. Mind you it only has 48,000 km's on it, and all waxed up looks like $1,000,000.

Ya thats kinda what im thinking, it needs a little TLC, the rims need to get powdercoated and theres a couple paint chips to fix up and needs new tires soon but for an 03 its got low mileage, ive seen the 03 gts running 9g with 130,000km on them so im thinking even if i drive it a year i probably could turn around and sell it for pretty much what I paid for it, then see if I can get a sonic thats a year old if I still really wanted it and save 2 or 3 g on the sonic then. If i got the sonic I would get the fully loaded one though, but I guess there not out yet, the vibes a decent deal and i can always turn around and sell it, whole idea was to get something fuel efficient for the highway putzin around town and keep the blazer for the winter and towing. So just need to decide if I want the vibe or another used car thats a bit better on gas........ahh DAMN decisions!

Yesterday I helped my dad out by getting his Clark forklift running again. It had intermittent spark & the carb was all screwed up. Cleaned & re-gapped the points & plugs to fix the spark issue, then reset the fuel mixture screw in the carb. Now it starts up VERY easily. I did snap off a plug in the process of removing them , but I'll fix that when the new plugs come in.

While I was down at his shop, I replaced the overhead lights that were not coming on. Two of them required replacement ballasts. I'll likely get them done this weekend when I get back down there to replace the plugs in the forklift.

After that, replaced a rounded off front wheel bearing retaining bolt & installed a new brake shield that was missing previously on the driver front of the Tahoe.

I also was down at the FD last night doing some truck & airpack maintenance.

Overall, I've been real busy. I'm coaching my son's flag football team and still trying to get to the gym 2-3 times a week. Doesn't leave much time for other things.
