Default Intake manifold gasket

She pulled the old"intake manifold gasket failure" trick Friday afternoon. After acquiring the parts and tools, then consulting YouTube for about 6 hours, I gathered some friends and we got 85% of it done by sundown last night. All that's left is to reconnect a few things, change the oil, and see how we did.
Looking forward to that. 👍👍

If you haven't refilled the coolant yet, run water in it to test, then flush it out a few times and refill with green stuff. Get rid of the dreaded Dexcool... I did that with my 2002, and it went for at least another 100,000 before I sold her.

I didn't use any flush products... just filled with water, ran out on the highway, drained and repeated until water was clear.

I got lazy and actually paid a mechanic buddy of mine to replace my leaking oil cooler lines while I was on vacation out of town last weekend lol

Maybe the 'ol girl will stop marking her territory in my drive way now... I had him do the filter adapter O-rings about a year ago too, think I may have finally stopped all the little leaks...

Default She's alive. ALIVE!!

Did the LIM gasket repair a couple of days ago.
She fired up and ran perfectly on the first try.👍😎
Now to continue cleaning/repairing/upgrading the interior.
Right after I gather and inventory all the tools I borrowed and return them.

So after having the oil cooler lines replaced, sure enough a day later, there's a puddle under the truck on the driver's side. Guess I should have grabbed some of the fittings that thread into the radiator and changed them a the same time... Long story short, I replaced those fittings yesterday lol she's leak free now.

Funny thing; I piked one up from Autozone, couldn't find another at a general auto parts store, ended up at a local GM dealer and they had one, so I got the other there. Upon inspection, despite one being in a Dorman package and the other being in an AC Delco package, they're the same darned fitting, down to the manufacturer symbol stamped on it... who knew... Autozone Dorman part number 800-607 $7.49, Dealership AC Delco part number 19303965 $10.74... go figure... Oh well, leak's gone now at least lol
