What have I done to my Blazer today? Nothing. What I've done to it lately is a whole different story. Bought an '85 Chevy S10 (Sonoma I think) after it had set for seven years. So, swapped over a set of tires on it to tow it home. Then I replaced the gas tank, and fuel pump, then rebuilt the carb. That got it running. Back flushed the coolant system and put in fresh anti-freeze. Motor flushed the engine and did an oil change on it. Changed all the rotted vacuum lines I could find. Got it tagged and insured to drive it and found the front end needed work. Replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends, idler arm, and pitman arm. Checked the ball joints and they seemed good. However, I didn't know you couldn't check them with them hanging. Yep, changed the top ball joints too. Got it aligned and started driving it only to have the transmission pan gasket blow. Got that taken care of and then chased down a short in the rear driver's tail light/turn signal which was in the plug back and the back. Installed a trailer plug while I had the inner panel out to fix the short. I also changed out the rear glass hinges and installed a spoiler off of my son's wrecked Blazer. Almost forgot, I wired in a toggle switch to get the wipers working because I don't want to take time to take the steering column apart right now. (It's on my never ending list though.)

Took it to pick up a mower last night only to have it start blowing transmission fluid again. If time permits I'll get under it in the next day or two to see where it's leaking this time.

Stopped at Walmart last night on the way home with the mower and the rear lock twisted on my son when he was trying to get my wheelchair out. Now the tailgate won't open with the key. The rear glass can still be opened with the button. I'm Guessing that I'll have to pull out the spare tire and that plastic panel on the inside to get the tailgate open and replace that lock but again, I'm only guessing.

Started messing the the oil cooler line. After finally managing to get the bolt off holding the line to the manifold on the engine, making a complete mess in the drive way, I couldn't get the line out of the engine bay... About the time I realized I'm going to have to jack the motor up to get it out, I got pissed off and went inside for the night lol.

So tomorrow a friend of mine is going to help me get it done...

One of the most annoying jobs on a Blazer. Did you remember to undo the bolt for the small bracket at about half way back along the upper edge of the oil pan?

Started connecting all wiring and installing/hooking up rest of the engine accessories. Realized water pump was off just a bit not allowing the pulley to properly mount. RMA'd it - same problem on another one. Found one that worked with the right stud pattern - did a happy dance and had the owner put the pully on (17 year old son's blazer). Got the right TBI plugs pigtails in - and about 80% of the electrical hooked up (hooray!!).

Went to put the one good exhaust manifold on, damn thing doesn't fit. Middle two on - front two bolts - bottom ones off 1/8" or so. Realized I'm suffering from the stupid shrinking manifold issue, have a spreader on order so I can get them spread and installed. Waiting for my driver side manifold to arrive - the old one has studs sheered off for the exhaust and I couldn't drill them out (tried....but failed miserably).

Foot slipped while I was in the engine bay, want down and hit the front diff cover. Pulled off like 1/2" of gunk with my foot - and instant leak. Looks like the front differential service has been bumped up to the top of the priority list.

Most definitely

Got that little sucker knocked out tonight though! Just got to throw the skid plates back on, but the hard work is DONE

Managed to get enough room to remove it with a combination of a random spare wheel in the garage, a bottle jack, some scraps of wood, and a hope and prayer that the oil pan wasn't going to fracture on me in the process lol.

After getting it to raise about an inch or so, the line almost fell out...

New one went right back in its place with no issues. Let it run up to temp, no leaks at all.

What a total PITA...

Now this weekend I can finish my secondary project on it, running wires for the forward and reverse camera that feed into the rear view mirror with the monitor in it

Default Spent more money!

Finished removing old body bushings, wiggled truck back into proper position sort of for new bushings . Set 9 in place with the new 1/2” body lift spacer I made, and removed one busted body bolt. Went to a local welding shop and had some custom made washers made to repair the rotted spots on the frame. Came home and took the torch to the busted bushing bolt and got it out. After that started the front axle removal to install my ZR2 front pig. Dam that drivers side axle was a b*tch to remove.

Spent too much time trying install new brake lines last night. Bought pre bent lines that were 3 inches too long...have call this morning and find what the deal is. I went to Oreilly auto and bought a line to get this truck out of my garage. They gave me metric ends so after getting frustrated I figured.it out. Exchanged the line so after 3 hours I got 1 line in along with the caliper and hose.

Are you installing the zr2 flares on your 4 door? If so there are a few to go by on here. I did mine custom, as well as worthog did a good write up for his.
