Today the joy is spreading was getting ready to head up to my son's college to see him wrestle in the annual intersquad kick tournament when my truck wouldn't start after stopping for a soda.

I determined my fuel pump is dead, can't hear it, no pressure or fuel at the fuel rail and the relay was swapped with horn relay. Both honked the horn but neither helped the fuel pump. Spraying ether will make it run briefly,.

Working on my son's truck to clear the garage bay for a fuel pump swap so the drive side steering knuckle in in and torqued which included reinstalling the hub and ball joints.

Want to have this done buy Monday when the weather is supposed to turn nasty cold with precipitation. Maybe rain might be snow..

I have fixed the fuel pump issue but the metal lines seem to have failed with a massive leaks. The tank slipped when I was removing it guess that was more than the corroded lines could handle.

I would have like to drive it tomorrow with the expected snow but I will manage.

Had my red top battery tested....ended up, had a bad cell.

Swapped it out on warranty. Only had it 8 months. If this one gives fits, I'll try the yellow top next.

Replaced the block heater. Now I still have to adapt the power cord for it so that it will be protected from the heat of the exhaust manifold.

I'll post a report on it later but suffice it to say it is one of those jobs that whereas you can see it well, you cannot get to it very easily.

I think I may have found the source of the vibration. I couldn't get more movement than what I'd expect from the splines. There wasn't a shower of needle bearings as they were gone before I got it apart. Also changed the alternator on this truck. I think the change will be noticable since the replacement alternator spins freely and the one I took off won't spin a half rotation when I stop turning it

This is one my son's ZR2 which I call Uncle Sketchy.

HA! That's a dry one there.

Worst one I ever seen was on my '72 El Camino - so dry for so long, there was no rust color ... and it had worn through the cap and halfway through the trunnion. Wish I had digital pics of that one.

Got a long overdue alignment. A while back I took some turns off the torsion bars because I had them set WAY to stiff. Ever since then my tires had been looking like this \---/ lol. Was starting to eat up the outer treads of my tires... So I went and spent $90 to get them properly aligned finally... They're straight up now and it doesn't wonder from left to right while driving NEAR as much now

I've had great success with my yellow tops. They're pricey, but to me they're worth it with all the accessories I have powered off it.
