well, learned a hard lesson today.
had to buy my self another fuel pump...400 lessons are hard ones.

normally i wouldn't bad mouth a company but i cant help it this time.
first pump i bought was from autozone 1 year warranty, it failed two weeks after warranty of course, so i went back and complained..(ok sometimes parts go bad). they gave me another one and extended out the warranty. so that brings me to today. and the pump failed on the highway (what fun) so additional 50 bucks for wrecker. this time went to advanced and bought the Bosch 400 smackers "lifetime warranty".
so all in all going cheap has now cost me close to 1000.00.
in short autozone sells SH*&#$TTY fuel pumps.

yeah, yeah! check my time stamp on post # 2376 (01-12-2011, 02:38 AM )
plus my keyboard needs to be replaced sooooo badly. (see, those "o's" added themself). sometimes you have to hammer a key to get it to work. other times you hardly touch it, and it goes off!
yeah, i was thinking the same thing when i first saw Pat's thread. problem is, it would've made for even worse fuel mileage on his truck, and probably would've slowed him down to much to avoid anything.
sorry to hear about your fuel pump woes warthogdiver. hopefully that'll be the end of it.

my Hunter stainless grille guard came in and I installed it this morning. Really easy one man install. Well 2hrs because of the snow and 14 degree temps, went in to warm up a few times.

Picked up a JY maf yesterday and installed it. Truck runs perfect now...once it starts that is. If it sits outside at night it takes forever to start the next morning. Cranks and cranks and cranks. Parked in the garage last night after I drove it around for a bit, and it started right up this morning. Going to check a few things out today with fuel pressure and what not, then also install a new passenger side wheel bearing. Sounds like fun!

Longer02, what's the purpose of swaping to a JY MAF? does it 'read' better? Consider me interested
I loaded my pig up this morning (hucked tools in the back) and wrangled kids until the wife could take over... NOW, i'm suited up and ready to go chase some chickens and see if i can't find what done got broked the last time i beat her up a bit.
