listened to a symphony of grinding, dry metal on metal. sounds like something light (cat shield or brake shield) when it pops and pings, but it also makes a nice grinding sound when accelerating, deccelerating, applying brake, removing brake, giving gas, and letting off the gas.

It's like my own robot opera! I think i'm going to fill a wading pool with WD40 and auto grease and spash through it (in the neighbor's yard of course) a few times and see if i can't fix it...

Yesterday I tested the function of the electro-viscous fan clutch on my Rainier. My mileage has been exceptionally poor lately (11-12MPG; had been 15-16 this time last year)...

I decided to see if the fan clutch was working properly and it was NOT! By energizing the valve in the clutch (that modulates the amount of lockup the clutch has), I determined that the valve was not really opening or closing much at all. I could not hear the valve open or close. Whatever I did do though, my mileage has picked up by 0.5MPG in 50 miles (mileage hasn't been reset for 700+ miles) so... A new clutch is on order!

Yesturday I replaced the cap, rotor and leaky oil line to the radiator. Then Found out that the one to the engine is also leaking. So I have to have it made this week and replace it aswell. Also sold my JL 500/1 and replaced it with a JL 1000/1 to run my subs. Alarms still go off even with the windows up. lol

Blazer is a "W". Actually I had the O2 sensor out and tried to test it with the propane torch method previously. I think the results were iffy so I stuck it back in. I should have known better. While cleaning it up, I cleaned off some red silicone. Nothing will ruin them quicker than that. I did install it at that time with anti-sieze. I went to pick up the cat converter and wouldn't you know it didn't look anything like mine. It was supposed to be a direct fit. It probably is, just not mine. Someone had previously made a "custom mount" for it. Doesn't look like any in my manual either althoigh it's pretty close to a couple. I'm going to take it to this guy who does mufflers and get another one made with the mount off this one. Someone really laid on a weld where it's supposed to be bolted together. Might even be cheaper this way. Boy would that be a first.

Got my roof lights mounted last night. I had some wiring issues though and could only get 1 working (combination of bad ground and crappy connectors that came with the lights). I'm going to re-wire it all tonight and get them working

Had new Bilstein shocks and BFG KM2 tires put on. Had both the turn signal springs replaced in the steering column. Had the u-joint replaced.
