Did, rotors, pads and calipers on the jimmy (well jsut the passenger side sofar) was a can of worms.
Went in expecting to just do pads, rotors and bushings/bolts.
got the bushings/bolts for a 1993 GMC jimmy s15, not the right ones, the only ones they offered, found out that my jimmy has brakes from a 1994 s10 blazer (realized this after having a 94)
got that squared away and saved some money
THEN was compressing the piston on the caliper to get the new pads in, piston started leaking fluid. They have been kinda sticking, so i said "Screw it" and got some new calipers, 24 bucks, big whoop. Got the drivers side done, no problem (after i realized that i got new bolts and bushings for no reason since the new calipers came with them) and the drivers side looked AMAZING with all new brake componants

Got to the passenger side, 1-2-3-4 lug nuts lose, bam, 5th lug nut, on there like Arnold Schwarzenegger put that thing on. Stripped the lug nut. After that, I tightened up the other 4 and am holding off on the pass side until tomorrow when i feel like smashing a 18mm socket on the lug to get it off and put the new one on.

rich, the way i got my wheel stud off was i sprayed some pb blaster on it,and used a 3lb hammer on it. had it off in 3-4 swings. then pressed it back on with the lugnut. Dont drool over the new clean caliper for long. they turn ugly in just a few weeks lol.

oh i know, brake dust sucks! I need to get pics of the pass side once i get it done tomorrow so i can remember it.

The problem with the lug nut, is its stripped with the wheel still on, the stud is in good shape though LOL.

OH the outside of the lug is rounded off? Eh..Never really had that bad of a issue. i always managed to get em off. a 5/8 socket always fit better then a lug wrench. try that with some penetrating oil..

tried it all, 5/8 19mm, lug wrench, pb blaster, its rounded off like, well, something that is round, haha
happened on the drivers side last time, just pounded a 18mm on it, got it off and put the socket in a vise to pound the lug out. still, a pain. when all i wanted to do was rotors and pads LOL

yup, on the drivers side, this time is on the pass side. should be easier this time, seems like they make these lugs out of brass

Thats why i have like 10 extra lugs. for bs like this. You buy a used tire and they torque em on 250ftlb.

I will never use an impact on a tire... Only for removing a tire. Thats about it

good luck removing a lug on the side of the road that has been put on with an 700+ lbs impact
