PF52 is the AC Delco filter for the 4.3 Vortec V6. At least, that's the one for my '98 4dr 4wd.

I have used Fram and most any brand name oil (Havoline, castrol, mobile) for years with no issues. When I had a fresh rebuild on my Chevy in 1988, it was Havoline with MOA and napa gold as per my mechanic. Later I went to Mobil 1 on any engine with less than 100k. I will get napa golds when I'm thinking about it, but I usually just pick up the Fram at the big box auto store. Saves me having to use a wrench- that grip dip on it.

I also feel its more about paying attention to the oil pressure, oil level and frequency of changes. I do it every 6 months or 4K miles-whichever comes first. I also do a 1:4-5 mix of synthetic:conventional too.
