I only use wix filters, and Valvoline full synthetic in the jimmy, went about 9-10,000 miles from the last change and the oil was JUST starting to turn a darker golden brown.

i usually just use mobil 5000 or peak with a pureone or wix filter. i do change oil every 2k-3k miles. Now,once i do my v8 build/swap im going synthetic with wix or pure one filters. I pulled a valve cover and everything was super clean. as for bearings? pssh dunno. i just know ive got 60-70 psi of cold oil pressure and 35-40 idling. more then healthy.

Wix or if I can't get them anything but fram.

Oil is oil, my cuz used to work at a place that mixed it. The same bulk barrel would hold whoever ordered it. If castrol made a order then that day it was castrol, the next day the same oil might be put in a penzoil bucket. After learning that I'm not near as picky on oils.

I believe you. The glue called goop has several different types, plumbers, marine, household, etc. A dealer for told me it was all the same, just different packaging

I use whatever premium brand oil filter (Delco, Purolator, Fram, etc.) and oil (Castrol, Pennz, QS, Havoline, etc.) that are on sale when I need 'em. And I add one quart of full synthetic (usually Mobil 1) to 4 quarts of conventional oil. I have it on good authority that you get almost all of the benefits of running full synthetic from that mix. I agree with Diaita that routine maintenance is the key to good performance and longevity. If the oil meets the service requirement (SL, SM, SN, whatever), you're good to go. As for filters, I had a '70 VW that had no filter at all, ran hot at high rpm, and I owned it until '80 with no engine failure.

I stick with FRAM filters and whatever oil is on sale. Never had a problem, like Diaita said, maintenance is key.
