Default Why I love these trucks

Yesterday I took my friend Alex and nephew Cody on some backroad driving in the Central Cascades in my wife's '93 Jimmy. The truck did a fantastic job of navigating the rough roads over Tacoma and Stampede Passes. I switched on the 4WD a couple times to get over a few rough spots but other than that it went very smoothly. We had so much fun that we decided to do another trip soon down to Mount Saint Helens and Mount Adams.

Today I had a gig in town and was able to drive the Jimmy right down along Des Moines Creek to the auditorium to load and unload my gear, all of which fit easily in the back.

What's not to love about a truck that plays hard and then works hard the next day (and is small enough to fit under an 8' x 8' canopy)?

Everything is to love besides the gas mileage imo. But I'll solve that issue eventually by doing a Cummins 4bt swap in the 'ole blaze. I said eventually because it'll take quite a few months or even a year or two to save up. Very expensive!

I don't mind the gas mileage. I average 18mpg with about two-thirds freeway driving back and forth to Seattle. I can't help but love a truck that's so versatile and capable!

I'm intrigued by your Cummins swap. Did you get the idea from somewhere or is it your own inspiration?
