Default winding up sound?

I have noticed this more as the temp outside is hot, when I am driving and come to a stop mainly with the AC on I push the gas and as I start driving it sounds like the engine is winding up or sucking in air or something, its like a loudish sound. Kind of like when semis get going.. not sure how else to explain it. It goes away as I get going faster, maybe cooling the engine down cause the AC is on?
Anyone else experience this?

I think its just the AC compressor? mine makes a sound that could be what you are describing when the AC is on.

My bet is its your fan clutch kicking in to cool your engine. Sounds like a semi, almost a roar. Its normal, mine does that too.

haha yep, I should probably get a new fan too. Saw my shroud is in pieces and it looks like its caused by the fan shroud breaking apart :\
