Default 2000 Blazer

I just bought a 2000 Blazer and noticed the radiator has a brown gritty substance and the liquid is brownish. I want to flush/drain and add new coolant. May sound silly, but we cannot find the drain plug. Any help???

Drain plug is on the passenger side radiator tank at the very bottom. I found it easiest to remove the passenger side inner fender while doing this job. Made it much easier to get at the hoses and such. Plus, to complete the job, you really should remove the coolant res and give it a thorough cleaning. Also, throw a new t-stat and rad cap on it and check for leaks. Dexcool doesn't degrade on its own, it is caused by air in the system which means a leak at some point or another.

Just a thought but if you JUST bought it can you call where you got it and tell them about it? Or was it a private buy?

Yeah, if you purchased from a dealership, most states have a 'lemon law' warranty that should cover much of this. Even if you have to pay out of pocket and want someplace else to do it for you, costs are generally between $60 & $90 for the service.
