Default 97' Blazer Help... Battery Draining

hey guys im having battery draining issues with my 97' Chevy Blazer. My battery keeps draining quickly. I recharge the battery and overnight it's completely dead. i had the battery and alternator tested. the battery test came out good and the alternator test failed. i've installed a new cd player/w speakers recently. also the hitch wires are just hanging there underneath. idk if that could be the cause. but if you need anymore info just let me know. thanks.

Welcome to the site!

If your alternater failed, it could have a bad diode in it. A diode is like an electrical flow switch, it allows voltage to flow in one direction and not the other. If the diode fails, voltage can travel in both directions.
If there is a drain on the system, disconnect your under hood lamp, make sure the doors are closed, key is off etc..
Disconnect the negative battery cable ...now touch the cable end to the battery. If there's a spark, there's a battery drain.
Are you fixing this yourself, or taking it somewhere?
If you have tools, there are lots of people on this site that can help with knowledge and advice.

I don't know how much detail to go into regarding diagnosis and repair, til I know what you wanna do.
Let us know, we're happy to help.

Which fuse are you using for your stereo? Just asking so I can figure out what else runs off that fuse.
It might be the stereo or any other component that runs off that fuse.
Let us know.
