Default CRACKED RADIATOR!!!

HEY PEOPLE,

My 1998 4x4 s-10 blazer has a leak and was running hot I found a crack in the radiator I patched the crack with liquid metal drove it one day I had a 90% of my patch was succesful..but it overheated again. I thought it was backed up from a damaged themostat
so I replaced the thermostat and also poured that rad stop leak in the rad to be on the"safe side". It's a 195 therm. It still appears
to run above normal. WHAT'S GOING ON HERE! do I need a new radiator???? What do you think? OH YEAH I'M IN
PHOENIX AZ WHERE IT GETS UP TO 120 DEG!!!! small factor huh? lol

I had this happen in my 92 on a long haul trip. I noticed the leak when refueling, before she was too low, so after inspecting I decided to top off the coolant, and keep driving, I had to stop every 150 miles or so and top it off. When I got to my destination I patched it up, and poured stop leak into it... After driving it about 30 miles or so, the temperature gauge started to climb... ??? Well, to make a long story short, the leak was fixed, but apparently the stop leak was causing flow issues... I ended up having to drain the radiator, refill, run, drain, refill, run, drain, refill and finally she stopped overheating. This could be the same thing you're seeing...

BUT, if you didn't put stop leak into the radiator until after the first time yours overheated, then I probably just wasted my time writing this... oh well...

You might just need a new radiator, the side tanks are made of plastic and that metal patch material may have damaged the tank even more???? But you will have to check it to find out.

And if you decided to replace the radiator here is a link to a brand you should look into since you are in egg frying country...lived there myself in 1973 and the temps were also like 120 outdoors in the summer.

1.800.RADIATOR which i know i have posted before. they have free overnight delivery, GREAT prices, and lifetime warranty as long as you keep the receipt! i've not had one problem from there and i bought three rads from them and had two friends buy from them as well.

One: 1985 Toyota Celica
Two: 1988 Pontiac Trans Am
Three: 1994 Saturn SC2

So... no it wasn't the same car, three times. hehehe [8D]
