electrical issue
hi everyone, i recently got a 95 blazer. it has a few electrical issues... i searched around but didnt really find any answers. so here go the questions/problems
-my dome light does not turn off. i removed all the door triggers, including the one in the hath, they still stay on. the dimmer swith dims, but doesnt turn them off. i really dont want to go through all the wiring, so hopefully someone has something for me. the key and light chime work.
-i have power seats, but they dont work(driver and pass). the only fuse box i found was to the right of the driver side. eveything is plugged in. the motors work (i hooked up 12v to see they still worked)
-my gas guage seems to go up when my rpm goes up, and goes down to where it should be when the rpms drop.

RE: electrical issue
I had the same problem in my 89 IROC convertible. Turned out to be the little thumbwheel switch that regulates how bright or dim the dash lights are. If it isn't that, you're probably just still getting a ground out somewhere in that circuit.

You must still be getting a ground somewhere in that circuit. If there has been an aftermarket radio installed or any other work done that would require wire splicing, etc. you could have some other wires touching. If it's like what I've seen, the door triggers have "hot" coming to them all the time, then when the door opens the trigger completes the circuit by grounding to its metal seat in the door frame. So again, it's my guess you still have a ground somewhere. I suspect it could even be somewhere on the lighting which is controlled by the dimmer, which would include the radio. Good luck.
