Default a few questions from a blazer newbie.

1 Just picked up a 94 blazer 4.3 yesterday out of a yard for 300 bucks. The owner had just put a brand new battery in it and it wouldn't start until I jumped it with my work van. I drove my find home and parked it in my car-port and shut it off but it will not start with-out a jump again? What is that? starter? alt? battery is brand new. just clicks and chatters.
2 The motor seems strong,I let this thing run for about 20 minutes or so to see if it was gonna blow up or something but it is fine.
the other problem is the window behind drivers side is half way up and i can't get power to it to roll it up (power windows). Does any have knowledge to give me on how to get this window up?
3 I am also seeking an answer to my driver door problem-- I noticed last night that the upper hinge that is connected to the inside of the blazer (not to the door) is broke. not the whole thing is broke though only the bottom connection where bushing goes is broke which caused the door hinge pin to **** sideways and thus spring does not stay put and door closes wierd or not at all.
Any ideas for these problems is appreciated. I hope to have pictures as soon as i can get some and thank you guys/gals in advance.

check the cables on the battery for corrosion, and then take battery to advanceautoparts to get tested. That way you know if the battery is good because if it was starter, jumping it would hvae done nothing, and if it was alt. it would have died while you were driving it.

agree with 97blazer44 on battery cables. On window, seems that the motor is dead, guessing, but its a easy fix, motor prob only 35 -50 bucks. as for getting it up with out buying a new motor, pull door panel off and pull slide off the track. push the window back up and put slide back in. On the hinges, they are pretty easy and cheap to do as well. 5 bucks or so, and then head to your local nice , friendly body shop and ask how to put spring back in. hopefully they have the tool that compresses that, if not, grab 20 bucks and go to the parts store. I just replaced the hinges on my 97, and it was a breeze, even while drinkin beer

Hey thanks I will try all those suggestions this weekend when I will actually have time to dig into this project. Appreciate all the friendly help in here.
My wife thinks I am crazy for trying to breathe life back into this blazer!!!! I told her when I am drunk doing burnouts in the front yard in my new blazer....I will be the one who is laughing.

YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I will keep that in mind, Okay so far I took battery to auto store and they told me that battery was sh@t so I replaced it and the blazer starts fine now -- The window advice was superb!!! Window is up and to my surprise I turned the air on this morning and IT HAS ICE COLD AIR!! The hinge problem is strange still. Yesterday I removed the driver's door and replaced both hinge pins and bushings only to discover that one of the holes that the hinge pin goes through is busted out (the one on the inside of the body not on the door) and it cannot be removed. Do I need to find a welder to replace this or any ideas? The door shuts with a good lift and slam method but that will get old quick. I thought about just taking off the door but my wife gave me that "I don't think so look" and I quickly reconsidered and ran to my computer. thanks for all the help so far

Your choices on the door hinge are limited. With the proper tools, the hinge can be welded at the point where it wore and broke. You will then need to open the hole back up and true it up to the other hole for the hinge to work properly. Or you need to drill the spot welds that hold the door bracket onto the body and reweld in another in the proper alignment. The problem is finding a donor hinge in a scrap yard that doesn't have the same problem yours has.
