intermittent power windows?
hey guys, i need the wizardly help of the blazer forum once again. ('96 blazer 4 door) driver's power window went out last year, put in a new motor, worked fine. recently stopped working again. drivers rear door window also has failed now. funny thing though, when it's cool to cold outside they do function. but who wants to take the chance of it getting stuck down! any thoughts of wisdom greatly appreciated & everybody have good weekend.

RE: intermittent power windows?
If you punch the window controls and it starts working it is either a oxidized contact or a bad ground. Seen this crap on alot of Dodge products.

RE: intermittent power windows?
the drivers controls act as a master control that the other switches relay off of. i had a similar prob on my pass door changed the pain in the *** spring loaded motor and still didnt work, so i changed the drivers controls and wahlah problem solved, quessed i could have saved a few bucks by coming here first. also could just be a loose or worn control switch, my new one is know acting as a child safety, so i have to push up slightly on the corresponding switch to allow others to use their windows.

maybe the controls? they work fine when it's cold outside, when it's warm sometimes not. gotta be a contact issue.

It's gotta be a poor connection somewhere. A wire to a connector or a connector to a switch, or a connection at the motor itself.
