Leaking trans fluid problem
i talked to the previous owner of my new blazer as i picked it up today, he mentioned how he would drive it and park it and there would be no leaking, but to come out a few hours later to find a puddle. he said its most likely coming out of a breather hose. also mentioned was he had the trans overhauled 3 years ago and apparently they didnt replace some like 5 cent seal which this shop told him is probably the culprit. i just want to know if anyone else has heard of a case like this...

Where is it leaking from? Rear tailshaft? pan? coolant line connection?

The vent tube is on top of the tranny. There is NO overflow or resivoir on a tranny. It shoud not, I repeat, should not OVER heat when you park and def. should not spew forth fluid at any time.
Either the tranny has too much fluid, which would be a possibilitiy. Whent eh fluid gets hot, it will escape out the vent tube, however that will happen at any time, not when parked. When parked and the engine off, the tranny isn't generating heat.
Does it have any knicks in the tranny coooler lines, does it have cooler lines? How far did he drive it? You need to crawl under there and find out where its leaking. Post up and I can tell which seal it is. There aren't too many of them.
The proper way to check tranny fluid is after driving the truck for 20 minutes. Leave the engine running, park on level ground, and check th fluid level.
