my 4x4 is not going in to 4 wd

]i really really need help
i have a 1998 chevy s10 blazer . the 4wd dose not want to engage in to 4wd,i have seen all of the forums on this problem but no luck with it.if u press the button it will flash but not stay in 4wd, i checked the vacuum acuater by putting a hose in there and it sucks and works , but i started the s10 with the hose unhooked and there was no vacuum while i preesed the 4x4 , i neeeeeed help i cant do anyyhing with 2wd. please help , i cant afford to take it in the dealer. or how much will the dealer cost to fix it [:@]

I thought my 4wd was f'd up, it ended up just being the transfer case fuse. It would blow every time that I tried to put in 4HI or 4LO, ended up my tcase switch in the dash was bad.

haha sorry, there is a vaccume switch on the t case

hope its not the stupid encoder motor like i had... ugh. that was costly as hell...
