Oil sensor location?
Anybody know were is the sensor that shuts off the fuel pump when the oil level goes low located? Is there one like that on the tranny too? Will it turn anything else off? Will it turn off the fuel pump if I have a little too much oil in the engine?

RE: Oil sensor location?
Its located below the distributor on the drivers side. At least on the models I have worked on. Large plug goes over it and plugs in. Fairly large wires also. At least one orange, maybe two. Book in shop. Not one on tranny. Overfill of oil isnt good, but wont affect the pressure if just a normal 1/2 quart or quart over. Do let the oil out for normal level.
Those can go bad but I have heard that simply unplugging it will disable it and allow the engine to run normal. Think I read that here somewhere??

Yeah I heard that too. How do I disable it? Any more description about the oil level sensor? What is the sensor thing at the front of the engine, below the belt?
Thanks for your help

On my '87 the sensor is next to the oil filter.
I know on my truck that you can pull the wires and the engien will still run, guage wont work and the shut off feature is disabled.
The oil pressure sensor is tied into the fuel pump circuit via the fuel pump relay.
