Default popping=misfire???

What the heck! alright, I get in the Blazer, drive, mind this that I can only press the pedal down about an inch and thats all. Any more else the engine boggs heavily, and decreases power! Eventually I hold the pedal down because I am furious, the RPM gets higher and then the engine screams, but no reaction untill I let off to the inch mark and it then starts to take off. Now I get these weird popping noises on the engine compartment. Is that a MISFIRE?? Its not that loud like a backfire, but enough to notice and feel. I would get a few, then let completely off the gas afraid the dam thing might break. Can anyone help??

I would have to say have a compression test done as well as possibly take a look at how well the cam is opening the valves (removal of valve covers). Sounds like it really doesn't want to run. I would also have to say to check the timing...

What has been done to it lately?

that sounds like somethin I should do, well, got the plugs, wires, distributor cap changed. Had Trans checked, and filter replaced, cleaned the MAF sensor, new oxygen sensors. would It be a problem to have a compression test done if I live in Germany??

Should be the same proceedure done on german cars. They may have to get a different adapter for the sparkplug hole, but nothing is really all that different. Timing can be checked the same as older vehicles as well, but I cannot remember the exact proceedure for checking timing on the newer blazers (never have had to do it on mine), but I'll do some research.

This could also be a bad cam or crank position sensor causing this... If the PCM doesn't know where the crank or cam is, you'll get all kinds of weird things happening, but verify the basics first.

hmm thanks for the info. I was also reading about the egr valve needing cleaning. Where the heck is that? I have already dropped alot of money into
getting things checked or replaced, and it gets pricey when 1 u.s. dollar is only .75 cents euro. so I figured that I can do all that simple stuff myself. I already got the hang of it puttin on intake, throttle body spacer, rear roll pan that I had to cut the frame to install. Otherwise do u think that can be it?

nothing, i thinks it needs replacing though, carbon build up inside, dont know if thats the factor. I just
want to drive it off a cliff, with me out of it of course. Ill just have to order a new one.
