Quitting
I have a 1991 blazer that will just stall for no reason, It runs find going down the road, but at a stop sign or redlight is will stall out on occasion. Sometimes when you put it reverse or drive. This did not happen until I put a new distributor in. Any Suggestion?

Are the wires coil/plug wires ok? Does it just quit or chug along a bit?

Does it also idle rough? Or does it just stall? If it's idling rough check the EGR as well.
Is the SES light coming on at all? You might be able to get some codes if it is.

RE: Quitting
All the wires are new (less than 2000 miles on them), new fuel pump within the last year, New plugs, air filter, PCV valve. Checked for lose wires. It idles normal. It don't stall everytime just on occasion. The SES light don't come on. Installled new battery. If you keep the RPM up it does't stall.

RE: Quitting
Maybe the throttle body along with the IAC are gunked up in carbon?

RE: Quitting
I replaced the IAC and cleaned the Throttle body throughly still quitting. What I can't figure out is the blazer wasn't doing the quitting before I installed the distributor.

Maybe your dist. is deffective since new...? There is a possibility that it was bad righ out of the box...
Maybe it is lacking fuel...check the fuel pressure...chevy 4.3's eat fuel pumps...

RE: Quitting
Have you checked the wires and connections with a voltmeter, to see if they are working correctly. A wire or connection can look fine from the outside but maybe defective on the inside. If you have the old distributor put it back in with the old parts to see if it continues, then put on new parts eg; cap and rotor and see what happens then. It is entirely possible to have a defective new part, that is why they have guarantees just for that reason, that quality control either missed one or that it was borderline on the + side and another part was borderline on the - side and they don't work well together because tolerances are not correct. It happens, so keep up the good work and you will get it figured out.
