Service engine light came on finally
I got 144K on my 97 Blazer and the service engine light just came on. My wife was driving it on very low fuel and she said the light for fuel came on and the service engine light. What did she do?
Did the service engine light come on after she filled up with gas???? If so then the gas cap may not be sealed properly on the filler tube. Since our tanks are sensitive to pressure and there is a pressure sensor on the tank, if the cap does not seal properly then it will throw a code. Have had this happen a couple times on my '99 Grand Am and one or twice with the Blazer....make sure that when you install the cap on the filler tube that it clicks at least three times past stop....
My blazer is with me in England so no auto zone near me. I'll ask my wife about the light when she wakes up. I'll also double check the fuel cap. Thanks for the help.
