i just put in a completely rebuilt engine into my 97 blazer 4.3L...while i was at it i added a comp cam..to spice it up....anyway...that cam is great alot of new found power...especially mated to a raptor transmission...any way...the idle the cam causes is just low enough i lose power steering and after a bit the engine starts to jump up and down a couple hundred RPM's dipping as low as 400rpm at the worst. im fine with the idle going up and down cuz the cam i put in does have a noticable idle...i have tried adjusting the idle screw to raise it but the IAC compansates until its to high and throws a code saying idle is to high.....so my question is..is there anything or a dealer that can program the idle a couple hundred rpm higher just to keep it from dipping down so low. its really no big deal to me except when u sit in traffic long it enough it really starts to jump around and get annoying...any suggestions would be great.....o yeah..also the egr and all sensors ect. have been cleaned...this is all caused by cam activity...

You really should get the PCM atleast tuned to your mods, if not go all out and have it dyno tuned with a wide band O2 for optimum fuel/spark. At that point, they can change anything you like. Typical PCM tuning alone will cost you $200-300. A full on dyno tune shouldn't be more than $500. Alot of cash to drop, but the benefits should make it worth it.

It may be possible to use a controller, but for the money, a custom tune is best. I know many people with high hp Pontiac Grand Prix GTPs and Bonneville SSEi's that have custom PCMs. Many have tried controllers and have done it successfully, but it takes A LOT more knowledge to tweak in right and you do run the possibility of damaging your engine with excessive timing (more so with boosted engines, but...).
On the original question about modifying the idle speed, I do not think that a dealership would ever do this for you unless you knew someone. The only real alternative is to have the PCM modified to the appropriate value. If you have some tuner shops around you, they may be able to do the work. Just go in and ask questions about price and what they typically modify. Always ask what kind of a guarantee they give you (aka if their tuning breaks something, what do they cover).
I will leave you with one quote that I have always liked:
"Modding and breaking go hand in hand"
It is so very true for any kind of modification. If done right a mod should last just like stock, but the key is to do it right.
Good luck
